Student assistants wanted for EOR mentorships August - December 2012
Would you like to develop your coaching and teaching skills? Are you interested in helping 1st-year students settle in? Would you want to support new students develop their study skills and academic attitudes as a mentor? Have you passed your first year or do you expect to have passed by August 1? Are you sufficiently proficient and confident in English? Are you available in week 34 and 35 for a three-day training course?

Student assistantship: job and training You will be a mentor from August - December 2012 and have bi-weekly sessions of one hour with a group of first-year students. Your role is to help them develop study skills and an effective academic attitude. This requires teaching and coaching skills.
To prepare for the role of mentor and to get guidance throughout the period of assistantship, you take the 2-EC course Training & Coaching for Student Mentors. So your appointment will be part of a package deal: a paidstudent assistantship and a 2-EC training course.
You are eligible for this job if you: -study the same degree programme as the mentorship you apply for; -have completed your first year (or at least by August 1, 2012); and -are highly proficient in English.Since integration is one of the aims of the mentor system, we encourage both Dutch and foreign students to apply.
